This week I took up a note being passed in class. I always hated when that happened to me, but being on the teacher side of it is different. It's the most tangible way of showing you are NOT paying attention to what I'm saying. So of course I'm going to stop it when I see it. This is what the note said, which explains why when I reached for it one girl willingly said "You can read it!" And the other girl tried sneakily to hide it.
Student 1: Hey gurl
Student 1: Wuz up
Student 2: Nothing
Student 1: I'm bored
Student 2: Stop. I love school and I don't want to get in trouble.
Student 1: We won't.
And then I took it.

I have to admit I enjoy taking up notes when students are passing them back and forth during the message at church...some are actually really funny!
