Tomorrow is it. The day that I am the only teacher in the room making all the executive decisions and giving off the impression that I know what's going on. I've spent over a week in the classroom preparing and virtually putting off every decision because there was something in front of it. Now, nothing is in front of it. It's time to decide the schedule of the day, the procedures for sharpening a pencil, turning stuff in, discipline issues, class officers, EVERYTHING. I HAVE TO DECIDE EVERYTHING.
I have nervous tummy so bad. I've been reading the famous book First Days of School by Harry Wong. The tone of the first days of school determine the whole year. I can tell myself how prepared I am till I'm blue in the face but we won't really know until I give it a try. I'll embrace the Henry Ford quote I've liked lately: "Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right."
I think I can. I think I can. I can?

I like the quote, but it doesn't leave much room for others' opinions, which may be part of the idea. However, I have an opinion that I think merits a little thought and consideration. I think you can.
